Thought yesterday might be a good day to fish as it was slightly overcast, not too cool and light winds. So as T went off for a ladies afternoon, I trekked down to the beach with rod, reel, bait and beach chair.
Couple other guys were already there but nothing on the beach as of yet - planned to give them a lesson.
Got everything ready, waded out on the sandbar (about a foot deep) and made a nice cast with the first rod.
Then the second rod, and even now have no idea what happened, but found myself doing a 180 on my tip toe just as a weenie wave came along and put me on my butt. Not a problem other than my bruised dignity and - oh crap, that's my phone in my new belt holster that went for a swim as well. As quickly as I could, popped it out of the case, and dried the exterior as Seri is asking what I'd like her to do.
Needless to say, it stopped completely shortly thereafter.
So I checked the internet and it recommended I not give up that soon as there was (is) a possibility that immersing it in white rice in a covered container for 72 hours might be able to dry it out. So here I sit with no phone and certainly none of the wonderful pictures that I took. I'll try to share them with you and expect you to use great imagination.
Picture 1 - you'll notice I captured the palm tree leaves against the cloud mottled blue sky - pretty nice I thought.
Picture 2 - Notice the other fellows fishing on the beach as this shot is facing west with the fishing pier in the background.
Picture 3 - This is Molly McGuires place here in Destin - we'll be eating there today for lunch.
Picture 4 - The hot tub at the condo - these are the people who indulge everyday - rain or shine.
I hope you like the pictures - I'm afraid the really ones have gone to some electronic heaven somewhere.
Time to break out the real camera so I don't have to repeat this nonsense.
